It's a Fairy tale ...

Somebody once told me fairy tales never die
That they live forever in dreams and make you fly
Somebody once told me dreams can come true
If you beleive in them they never fail you

It began as all stories begin
A touch of magic is all it takes
Two souls meeting on unallowed grounds
Learning of each other and growing

Together we builded a city of dreams
Towers raising to meet the sky
To the height of our passions and loves
Sparkling with touches and promises of future

An island of passion the city filled
It's shores and sky our meeting grounds
It's streets and fountains the food of our hearts
A shining palace the center of our love

But the dragon came and seduced you
A sense of false security it promised
Outside our city you went to it
Beyond my reach and even knowledge

Towers upon towers filled our city
As the dragon's shadow fell over you
Seeding itself upon you with promises
Birthing a new life unknown to the coming storm

Time passed and the storms came to our island
I could see the dragon's shadow, you denying it
It's presence imposing as the new life grew
Your soul slowly fading upon the towers of our dreams

A sparkling knight came, soothing the fears
To him you listened, unknown to me
You looked at the city that was our dream
Fearing loosing it to the dragon

Then the new life, a wonder, filled our lives
Yours, mine, the Dragon's.
A shining smile upon the coming storm
An innocent soul that we would love

You left the palace of our love, the dragon revealed
The sparkling knight at your arm, your protector
Looking back to me and whispering you would come back
The dragon and knight unknowing of our city, our dreams

The storm raged, for weeks topling the shining towers
Yet each time your whisper reached me, a new tower raised
Admist the storm, the palace of golden love remained outouched
As the city of dreams around it fell slowly to the storm

I waited .. in our garden .. crying the pain out to the skies
I whispered to you .. and you wispered back of future
Of our city once again shining, blooming with your presence
Now a desolated island of broken towers

But the dragon kept you captive in it's caves
The knight keeping the promises of saving you
Upon the winds of hope I offered our city as a safe haven
But always you answered with promises

I couldnt defeat the dragon, as lays on the other side of the ocean
Once, I went, and had to leave back to our city
The crystal ring of love you left me to hold against the storms
Which I kept with all my might, keeping the palace alive.

I built a ship, for the crossing, and the storms blew it away
The knight never left, the Dragon strangled it's hold
The storms raged over our desolated city
Blowing and booming at the walls of our palace

I am now alone in the garden of what once was our dreams
The ring's power as faded, the halls echoes with the storm
I look up and cry, tears running down my cheeks
For I no longer hear the crystal sounds of our love

Our laugher and joy lays behind the howls of the wind
As it tears appart the walls of our very palace
Yet you are still away, the ocean so deep between us
I see your shadow flicker upon the torchlight, smiling at me

The strenght as finally left me, seeping away slowly
On my back I lay .. looking at the cracked crystal ceiling
I look at the ring on my hand, and try to remember what it was
It is time to let go, the palace as fallen

Upon a small boat I entrust the ring
May the spirits guide it back to you
The broken city lays at my feet as it glides away
The palace fading in the distance

I look down at what was once our dreams
Upon the highest tower
Everything is so dark now ... I can't see
I just wait for my final breath to go away

The ghost of your presence as faded
Only echoes remain upon the ruins
A small spark inside wish that you would have been here
To rebuild the dreams with me

But the dreams are dead ... the city in ruins
The Dragon still holds you
The knight still whisper to you
I am still alone whithin an empty palace of gold

Somebody once told me fairy tales never end
The storms took you away
And you never came back...
